Who we are
MakeMyPaystub is a small independent team. We design the templates, write the code, research the payroll rules, and answer the support emails ourselves. The pay stub maker has been online since February 2026.
What we build

- Free payroll calculators, including a paycheck calculator for every state that uses one shared 2026 dataset of federal and state tax rules.
- Plain-English guides to every line on a pay stub, and payroll statistics reports for readers and journalists.
How we check our numbers
Every tax rate, wage base, and legal requirement we publish is traced to a primary source where one exists: the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Labor, state revenue and labor departments, and the statutes themselves. Each state page shows its sources and the date we last verified it. Where a figure is an estimate or a simplification, we say so on the page.
Our calculators estimate withholding. They are not tax or legal advice, and your employer’s payroll system may round differently. If you spot something wrong, email us and we will fix it.
Where we stand
A pay stub is a record of wages actually paid. MakeMyPaystub is built for employers issuing stubs, self-employed people documenting real income, and employees replacing or understanding their own. Using a pay stub to misstate income to a lender, landlord, or agency is fraud, and lenders verify income through employers, IRS transcripts, and bank records.
